Review // Snow Peak “Starter Kit”

imageThis set is killer… that is all you need to know, but… I will elaborate.

My entire goal in searching for the best portable camp stove was to find one that would allow me to ride to local destinations and make some bad ass coffee all while enjoying sun rises/sets out in nature. Life gets crazy and little outings like this are refreshing. I didn’t want a outdoor coffee setup that required much thinking. Just grab and go.

Snow Peak’s “Starter Kit” is hands down the best option for anyone looking for a very compact, lightweight, functional, and well-designed camp stove combo. Being Titanium, the set heats and cools in minutes. Everything fits right inside the Trek 700 titanium cookset: Fuel, the GigaPower Auto backpacking stove (no matches or lighters required), and a titanium spork.

After picking this up I thought I needed a camp mug to go along with it. At the time I didn’t realized just how fast titanium heats and cools. Using an Aero Press with reverse Aero Press coffee brewing style; I heated the water, poured into the press, stirred the ground coffee beans to infuse with the piping hot water, capped with the Aero Press filter, and by the time I did all that the Trek 700 was cool enough to handle and use as my camp mug… BINGO!! Coffee outside success!! With that said, if you prefer a single cup pour over then you will obviously need a camp mug BUT, you won’t have to carry an Aero Press around.

I’ve only had this set for about a week and couldn’t be more pleased. Looking forward to spending this summer exploring with the Snow Peak Starter Kit in tow.

Go to Snow Peak and check out all of their goods. Their apparel and gear are amazing. Very impressed.

Chris Stuart Reviewed Our Fat Bike!

DSC_1462_1024x1024“With its stock build, it’s a bike that one could commute to work on or meet up with friends at a local pub. It comes as a single speed setup but can be easily converted to a geared, go-anywhere machine. A few component upgrades made my single-speed Megalith a trail ready bike. Overall, if you’re looking for an entry level fat bike that has the capabilities of becoming a trail shredder, you can’t overlook Megalith” – Chris Stuart

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. Go to State Bicycle’s Blog and check out the rest of this review. Pumped to see our machine put to such good use.

Chas Christiansen: One Obsession

All the rad. All the levels! Via bike or board, exploring a city under your own power, intermingling with the city itself, is the only way to do it. In. love with this!

“What started off as a way to pay the rent in San Francisco, soon turned into a new way of life for Chas Christiansen. Messenger cycling opened up a world of opportunity and introduced Chas to an international community of like-minded people. Taking his bike everywhere that he goes, travelling the globe in search of new people, cultures and experiences.”
